Atomiser: A major component in electronic cigarettes that turns e-liquids into vapours. Also referred to as a “coil”.

Adapter: A device that facilitates the connection of various parts to a vape device, such as a specific type of battery.

Airflow: It refers to the amount of air inhaled per puff. The rate, pressure, and speed at which the air flows from your e-cigarette device when you inhale. 

APV: Stands for ‘Advanced Personal Vaporiser’, APV is a name for the most advanced vape devices which usually have adjustable airflow, temperature, and wattage options. 

ADV: Stands for ‘All Day Vape’, is a type of e-liquid flavor that vapers can use to vape all day long without getting tired of it.

Amp: Short term for ‘Ampere’, is a measure of electric current used to quantify the e-cigarette battery capacity.

Atomiser Wick: It is the absorbent material typically made of cotton that draws e-juice from the tank to the atomiser itself.

Blend: This word is used to describe the proportion of Vegetable Glycerine (VG) to Propylene Glycol (PG) in e-juices.

BVC: Stands for ‘Bottom Vertical Coil Clearomizer’, BVC is a clearomizer with the coil in a vertical position enhancing the vapour production and reducing resistance.

Box Mod: A type of ‘advanced personal vapouriser’ (APV), where the vape device is rectangular box-shaped offering better temperature control and battery capacity as compared to cylindrical tube designs.

Big Puff Vape: A disposable or pre-filled vape device featuring more than 2000 puff capacity from the device before it requires refilling or replacement.

Bottom Coil: A type of clearomizer where the heating coil is located at the bottom of the atomizer.

Clearomizer: A single unit combining the atomiser (coil) and the cartridge, hence the name clearomizer. It comes either pre-filled or empty allowing you to fill it with your favourite e-liquids.

Cig-a-like: Featuring a white body with brown ends, cig-a-like resembles traditional cigarettes. This e-cigarette is specifically designed to mimic traditional cigarettes.

Coil Jig: A type of metal tool designed to rebuild the coil in an electronic cigarette.

Cloud Chasing: This phrase refers to the hobby of producing large and dense clouds of vapours.

Custom Mod: A type of mod which you can get customized according to your preferences. A personalized and unique vape device, custom mod differs from regular factory-made mods.

Cut-Off: It is a safety feature which automatically shuts down the vape device after the predetermined time to prevent the atomizer from overheating.

Cartridge: A top part of the pod containing e-liquid, drip tip, and the coil. There are two types of cartridges including open and sealed cartridges.

Chipset: An essential component of vape devices, the chipset manages all the electronic parts. It is powered by built-in software which operates your screen and several other features of your e-cigarette.

Ceramic: A property of the material which makes it extremely heat-resistant. It is usually present in various coils.

DTL: Stands for Direct-to-Lung, DTL is the process of inhaling vapours directly into the lungs.

Drip Tip: It is a type of mouthpiece on which you place your lips. It is the place from where you inhale the vapours.

Dry Hit: A term used to refer to the burnt taste that occurs when the coil is not fully saturated with e-liquid or it has reached the end of its lifespan.

Dry Burn: It is the process of heating a coil without sufficient e-liquid. It produces an unpleasant taste and can be hazardous for your vape device.

Dual Coil: It refers to the rebuildable atomisers that use two coils at a time. The goal is to produce a dense amount of vapours.

E-Liquid: A liquid solution used in electronic cigarettes for vaping purposes. It is a blend of nicotine, vegetable glycerine, and propylene glycol.

E-Cigarette: Stands for ‘Electronic Cigarette’, E-Cigarette is a device that produces vapours by using e-liquid. It typically includes a battery, tank, and heating coil.

Eco-Mode: Refers to the low power consumption mode to make the battery long-lasting.

Flavour Chaser: A phrase used to describe someone who loves to explore different flavours of e-liquids.

Fixed Wattage: Refers to the vape devices that deliver a constant wattage/power output. Fixed power devices are easy to operate and require minimal setup, ideal for beginners.

mAh: An abbreviation of mili-ampere hour, mAh is a measure of the capacity or charge that the battery holds. 

MTL: Refers to “Mouth-to-Lung”, MTL is a style of vaping that closely mimics the feel of smoking cigarettes. In this vaping technique, vapours are drawn into the mouth before they get inhaled into the lungs.

Nicotine Salt: A category of e-liquid that gets absorbed into the bloodstream faster and offers smoother throat hits.

Ohm: It is a unit of electrical resistance named after the Physicist Georg Simon Ohm. Ohm is a unit to measure the electrical resistance of coils in vape devices.

PG: Stands for propylene glycol, PG is a colourless and odourless of the two base ingredients used in e-juices. It adds flavour to the e-liquid and offers a stronger throat hit.

Pulse Mode: A standard mode, pulse mode allows you to control the power of your vape device and offers a smoother vape.

Throat Hit: Refers to the sensation you feel in the throat while inhaling vapours. The throat hit is typically influenced by the PG/VG composition and nicotine content of the e-liquid.

Tank: Tank refers to the clearomizers that store e-liquid in a vape device.

VG: Stands for vegetable glycerine, VG is the second base ingredient used in the e-liquid. It is a sweet and thick liquid and offers dense vapours with a smoother throat hit.

Wattage: It refers to the wattage/power measurement in vape devices, impacting temperature and vapourisation. Wattage is often adjustable in most devices for desired flavour and vapour production.

Wick: It is a piece of cotton in the cartridge that absorbs e-liquids and delivers it to the coil for vaporization.

Zero-Nicotine: This term refers to the e-liquid that contains no nicotine. It allows the vapers to enjoy the flavour intensity without the nicotine content.
